Here is a good place to find out about those hard to find vintage repair items. Many of these items were used on the Ambassador restoration project. Click on the More Info button when you see something interesting.
Marinco 30amp plug. Don't try and use that 30+ year old power connector on your trailer. You want clean connections and modern hardware for safe power delivery. Expecially if you are putting in that air conditioner! This is a nice stainless steel marine type plug that looks sharp on your trailer.
Matching Marinco 10 gauge power cable for the connector above. Convienent standard RV plug on one end and Marinco mating plug on the other.
After repairing that rusty frame paint it with this stuff. POR15 is a high tech rust encapsulating paint that will help keep those repairs in great shape for years.
After finishing up that nice polishing job, you need to top it off with one of these. These are high quality reproduction signs. Look sharp!
You got that nice polish going, now you need matching aluminum tanks! These 30lb tanks will polish up great and come with the new OPD valve systems so you'll be good to go for years.
Don't trust that rusty old propane tank mount. We've all heard stories of the rod breaking and the tanks go dragging. It's not worth it. Get this cheap insurance. Expecially since you got those new tanks polished!
Weather-tight is what its all about. You just finished all those sub-floor repairs or you want to keep from having to do them. Make sure you keep all those big openings sealed up water-tight. Don't use silicone on aluminum! This is the stuff that has been used for years.
You have heard us talk about it for years. Here it is. Parbond. The very hard to find sealant that is great for those seams. Don't full yourself. Your trailer leaks! They all do. Put this stuff on all your endcap seams and all the vertical seams on the trailer sides. You can get good enough at it, you won't even need to masking tape the seam.
Another hard to find part. Olympic rivets. These are the special rivets that you can use for small repairs such as window gutters, small patches, missing rivet or two. Don't use them for panel replacements. You want the real deal, buck rivets for that. But these Olympics come in handy and look like the originals.
Don't over look the simple stuff. It maybe simple but its important. The emergentcy breakaway switch. Chances are your original one is quite rusty inside and won't work when you need it. A small price to pay for security.
I know, you've grown attached to that original Hehr vent. Well, it looks nice and can be polsihed ok. However, for ventilation it stinks. Sorry to be the one to break it to you. These new fans are vintage friendly and highly efficent. They move air like nobodies buisness. You own it to yourself to check it out.
These light cover reproductions are great. Just like the originals, execpt they are not cracked and dirty like the ones on your trailer! Simple upgrade that adds great curb appeal!
